Still Honoring Black History Month

Monday, March 8, 2021 24 Adar 5781

7:00 PM - 8:00 PMOn Zoom

We invite you to join us as we keep Black History Month going into March. Join Or Ami Village as we watch together:

Joachim Prinz: I Shall Not Be Silent – a documentary that uncovers the dramatic story of a courageous religious leader whose passion for justice compelled him to speak out against bigotry over the course of five decades. As a young rabbi in Berlin in the 1930's, Prinz preached openly against the Nazi Regime and saved many lives by encouraging Jews to leave Germany. Twenty years later, Prinz became a prominent leader of the civil rights movement in the U.S., culminating in his stirring speech at the 1963 March on Washington, when he cautioned, "America must not become a nation of onlookers...America must not remain silent!"

Following this viewing, our own Villager Steve Keleman will discuss how Congregation Or Ami is addressing the topics of social justice and inclusion in our own community and ways in which we might become involved.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
