Meet Rabbi Lana: Born in Moscow then making Aliyah to Israel at the age of eight, Rabbi Lana served in the Intelligence Unit of the Southern Commend in Beer Sheva and then in the Gaza Strip. She holds a BA in East Asian Culture from the Hebrew University, BMus in Piano Performance and Voice from the Jerusalem Music Academy, an MA in Professional Jewish Studies from the Spertus Institute in Chicago, and a Rabbinic ordination from the Shalom Hartman Institute. Currently, Rabbi Lana is studying towards a second Rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College. In the last fifteen years Lana has been working in the field of informal Jewish Education, as a tour educator, guide, group leader, lecturer, and facilitator, in Israel, Europe, and US. Rabbi Lana serves as a Rabbinic liaison and Director of community engagement at Rabbis for Human Rights. She is devoted to justice and peace activism, as well as religious pluralism. She lives in Mevasseret Zion with her husband Daniel and their three children.
