Israeli Settler Rabbi & West Bank Palestinian Activist in Conversation

Tuesday, July 9, 2019 6 Tammuz 5779

7:00 PM - 9:00 PMAt a private residence (address to be provided upon registration)

An Israeli and a West Bank Palestinian have partnered in an amazing project in the West Bank called Roots / Shorashim, and we want you to meet them! They spoke to a standing room only crowd at Congregation Or Ami last November, the day after the election, and showed us that even in the most difficult times, people with ostensibly different backgrounds can come together for higher purpose.

On Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 7:00 pm, Israeli settler Rabbi Hanan Schlessinger and West Bank Palestinian activist Mr. Shadi Abu Awwad will speak of their work to Or Ami congregants at a private residence.  At a time when Middle East peace seems further away than ever before, let’s come together again to learn about and support the work of Israelis and Palestinians in their communities.

Roots / Shorashim is a powerful source of instruction and inspiration. Their work has been able to bring Israelis and Palestinians together in the heart of the conflict. Every day in these most difficult times, they bring together religious settlers with Palestinians, and they do so not just to talk, but to act. They are creating an infrastructure for peace not just tomorrow, but today.

Please join us to hear more about their aspirational vision, and perhaps be inspired to become one of their supporters. Coffee and dessert will be served.  Please RSVP ASAP.
